Jeweler
Richard Hajj
Richard Hajj is the son of a jeweler and craftsman. He holds a diploma in cabinetmaking from the Institut des métiers d'art du Québec.
Passionate about creating jewelry, Richard incorporates an elegant marriage of materials such as local and exotic woods, silver, aluminum and acrylic glass. The simple geometric shapes, clean lines and crisp colors make these contemporary jewelry pieces veritable miniature sculptures.
All the pieces in his collections are handcrafted one by one. Their construction is technically challenging, creating details that add to their coquettish subtlety.
Each December, Richard Hajj takes part in the famous Salon des métiers d'art de Montréal.

What do you love most about your job? My craft gives me a lot of freedom, so I can sprinkle my creativity here and there along my professionnal journey.
Why did you decide to join l'Empreinte cooperative as a member? L'Empreinte is a wonderful association that is self-managed by its artisans. It allows us to join forces and promote our work.
How do you see the cooperative making a difference in the world of fine crafts in Quebec? The cooperative has been supported by hundreds of Quebec artisans over the past half-century, and these multi-generational craftspeople enable me to make a living from my art today.
