Félixe Carole Dicaire, jewelry designer
How long have you been a member of the co-op?
I have been a member of the co-op since 2010.
How would you describe your work?
I first trained in fashion design. In 1999, I turned to jewellery design.
My jewellery is made of steel wire covered with nylon, feathers and metal beads and stands out for its geometric, organic structure and aerial design.
After 20 years, my favourite material remains this nylon coated steel wire, which I dye, mat, bend, twist, add, pinch and bend.
My creation always passes through this wire, it is by manipulating it that the forms appear. I take great pleasure in elaborating these structures. I rework them on a dummy, adjusting volumes and movement so that the piece comes to life, that it is transformed and that there is a dialogue between the piece and the body.
Many of my plays have appeared in Canadian and French magazines and newspapers.
I have participated in many events and group exhibitions in Canada, the United States and France.
