How long have you been a member of L'Empreinte coopérative?

I joined L'empreinte in June 2010. I started at the shop's first address at 272 Saint-Paul Street East.

How would you describe your work as an artisan?

I like to mix yarns to get the colour I want, I often work in the same tones. The beauty of nature inspires me, especially the texture, shape and colours of the petals. I add subtle embroidery to give a unique touch to my piece. My work is feminine and soft. I use mostly merino wool for the fall-winter seasons and linen for the spring-summer, both mixed with cotton.

As an artisan, what do you get out of being a part of L'Empreinte coopérative?

L'empreinte is for me like a family; it helps me advance, it advises me. The exchanges, the stories and the experience of each member are a richness for all. I am really happy to be part of it and to do my part with my load to share.

Do you have a memory or a significant moment related to the cooperative that you would like to share with us on this page?

Every encounter at L'empreinte is a defining moment-there's always a little story. I remember the dinner for our 40th, it was just wow! Meeting founding members, listening to their motivations, the story of the moment. It was beautiful to see all those people who were a part of L'empreinte. Now the beauty is to see the determination of the members to keep it going.
