L'Empreinte coopérative Montréal is an institution in Quebec in the field of professional crafts thanks to its history, the passion of its artisans and its timeless boutique. With a mission to promote and democratize Quebec's fine crafts by showcasing the works and products of local professional artisans, l'Empreinte coopérative has become the showcase or Quebec's fine crafts over the years.
The showcase of local artisans since 1974
Founded on April 27, 1974, the cooperative is recognized as a pioneer in the field of fine crafts for a variety of reasons. Firstly, because it is one of the oldest existing shops in Quebec specializing in products by local creators, but also because it is one of the few businesses of its kind to be self-managed by its members. As its mission indicates, l'Empreinte has been guided for more than 45 years by the desire to provide the Quebec arts and crafts community with a quality showcase. Today, l'Empreinte can definitely be recognized as the showcase for Quebec's fine crafts.
Members dedicated to the promotion of local fine crafts
Since l'Empreinte's creation over 45 years ago, more than 270 members have ensured the growth of the cooperative and its influence through a management method in which they are both artisans-creators and collective entrepreneurs. This effervescent environment has allowed all the artisans to learn from one another and to develop both collectively and individually. Today, the boutique presents the works of 21 member artisans and more than 70 guest artisans.
Located in the heart of Old Montreal, the Empreinte boutique is a magnificent place where you can find a wide range of handmade works by passionate Quebec artisans. Over the years, the boutique has become synonymous with quality Quebec products. Thanks to the wide variety of unique crafts, customers can find jewellery, fashion items, games and toys, ceramics, tableware and much more! Over the years, the boutique has presented the work of nearly 500 professional Quebec artisans.
