Marie-France Labrosse, Ceramist

How long have you been a member of the co-op?

Since July 2017.

How would you describe your work?

I would describe it as clean and organic, especially in the case of hand formed pieces with imperfect shapes. I often work with textures that bring a natural character and I apply muted, soft and moving colours, a bit like a watercolour. I prefer a simple, delicate style and light tones.

As an artisan, what do you get out of being part of the cooperative?

It's like a big family where everyone has their own style. It's really inspiring to work with passionate people and share our aspirations. L'Empreinte gives us the opportunity to question ourselves, develop and grow as artisans. The cooperative allows us to come together to promote handmade work.

Do you have a memory or a significant moment related to the cooperative that you would like to share with us on this page?

It's a cliché, but my most memorable moment was my first day at l'Empreinte 😉 It was a beautiful summer day, the Old Port was bustling with activity, the shop was full of people and I felt really privileged to install my pieces in this magnificent space.
