How long have you been a member of L'empreinte Coopérative ?
I have been a member of the cooperative since 1987, so I have been a member for over 34 years.
How would you describe your work as an artisan?
I make contemporary jewelry. All of my jewellery is carefully made of silver, on which I add gold, gemstones or other materials. I'm always trying to push the limits of traditional jewellery by integrating different unusual materials into my work, such as cement and felt. My work is also distinguished by the creation of jewelry-sculptures, the jewel is harmoniously integrated into sculptures or mobiles. The jewel is no longer simply a jewel to be worn, but becomes an artwork in itself. I am often told that my jewellery is playful. A classic jewel but spirited.
As a artisan, what do you get out of being part of L'Empreinte coopérative?
I love being part of the cooperative, the proof is that I've been there for more than 34 years. The cooperative is rich in its diversity, the quality and originality of its products. It is enriched by the strength of the group and by the richness that each member can bring to it or contribute to its influence. Strength in numbers!
Do you have a memory or milestone related to l'Empreinte coopérative that you would like to share with us on this page?
In all these years, I can say that the Footprint is resilient. Over the years, it has encountered many obstacles and has always been able to recover. So despite the challenges we are currently facing, I am confident that the co-op will get through this difficult time.
