Mélanie Laplante, glass artist: jewelry and decorative objects Ami

The name of her line of glass jewelry and homeware, MÉLA, comes from the first syllables of her name: MÉlanie LAplante. But mela also means "to gather" in Sanskrit. A nod to the thermoforming technique, fusion, which she mainly uses to make her creations.

"For me, glass is a dense material that makes light vibrate. I like to superimpose layers of colored glass, which, transformed by heat, forms a movement whose traces can be seen in each piece. I add my own touch, cold-faceting angles to follow the curves created by the heat. A paradox in itself, to rework heat with cold!"

A set of 4 glass Christmas ornaments, handmade in Montreal, by glass artist Mélanie Laplante for MÉLA.

Whether to adorn your tree or to catch the December sun in your windows, these Christmas ornaments, like crystal jewels, will bring a touch of festive light to your decor.

The set includes a house, a small tree, a large icicle and an iridescent crystal. All come with a small wire to hang them.

Melanie makes each piece individually. No two are alike, even if they are similar! But each piece is magical...

In Canada, delivery is free from 150$ CA before taxes. A flat fee of 15$ + taxes applies to orders of 149.99$ and under, before taxes (standard shipping 3-9 business days). You can choose other, faster shipping methods at checkout. These variable charges will be calculated at this stage.

For all shipments outside Canada, delivery charges are calculated at the checkout stage according to the volume, weight and delivery address of your order.

  • SHIPPING TIME
Once your order has been validated and paid for, we will dispatch your package within a maximum of 5 working days.
Some items are produced to order. In such cases, shipment may take up to 10 working days, and you will be notified accordingly.
  • CANCEL OR CHANGE YOUR ORDER
Contact us immediately at (514) 861-4427. If your order is still being processed, we will do our best to accommodate your request.
  • EXCHANGE AND RETURN
We do not issue refunds. However, if you have changed your mind, we will gladly exchange your item for a voucher valid in our store or online within 15 days of receiving your order.
  • EXCHANGE CONDITIONS
If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss of value.
  • RETURN COSTS
If you wish to exchange an undamaged item, you will be responsible for the cost of returning the product(s).
Initial shipping charges are non-refundable.
You will be responsible for the new shipping charges for your exchange.
  • UNCLAIMED PACKAGE
If your package has not been claimed, it will be returned to us.
We will contact you to determine whether the order should be reshipped or refunded.
