Jeweler
Sylvie Lupien
Sylvie Lupien has been working as a jeweler for more than thirty years. She divides her time between the production of small jewelry pieces and larger, sculptural works. She is also passionate about photography.
In much of her jewellery, she integrates coloured sand to add texture and patterns, giving her work a unique and playful style.
As a member of the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec, she is often called upon to sit on juries. In 1998, she was awarded the prestigious Jean-Marie Gauvreau Prize for her body of work in fine crafts.
Member since 1987
What fascinates me most about my job is, first and foremost, the creative freedom. I love integrating different materials with silver, especially cement and felt. Working in my studio makes me happy day after day...

Why did you join l'Empreinte as a member? The reason I decided to join the cooperative was the idea of becoming part of a group in which I share the same passions and objectives, namely to promote Quebec's fine crafts! Over the years, together we've overcome many challenges and obstacles, and I must emphasize that we've also shared our successes. And after 50 years, we're still standing strong together, that's a big deal!
L'Empreinte is a great showcase for many of Quebec's artisans from different disciplines. The boutique is beautiful and modern, and all the products selected are of the highest quality. What's more, there's always a warm welcome for everyone. And I must say that what makes our cooperative so special is that customers have the chance to meet many of the artists at any time during their visits to the boutique.
