In the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal, the magnificent Cherrier Street is known for its superb small Victorian houses. Renée Bovet captures them here under the snow, with their singular exterior staircases, a unique Montreal feature!

A member of the Empreinte coopérative since 1988, Renée Bovet chose to paint on silk because of its finesse, transparency, brilliance and the softness of the shades. Winner of the Prix du public du Salon des métiers d'art du Québec, her works are part of major private collections in Quebec.

The illustration of this small magnet is a reproduction of a paper mache work by Suntaree Palasing.

The raccoon is practically the unofficial emblem of Mount Royal Park at heart of Montreal. It is frequently seen on walks through the park's trails. The Montreal raccoon is quite adapted to its urban environment and does not hesitate to come and beg for food from humans. However, it is strongly discouraged to feed them.

Probably inspired by the Mallard, the least shy duck species! It can be found everywhere in Quebec, even in urban areas. Mallards don't hesitate to approach humans to eat from their hands!

The reindeer is also called caribou in Quebec. In fact, it is on our territory, as well as in Alaska and Labrador, that we find the largest herds of wild caribou.

The word caribou comes from the Micmac word "xalibu" which means "one who scratches the ground with his paw".
