A mini ceramic dish, handmade in Quebec, with a minimalist, raw style and a shape and irregular glaze reminiscent of a botanical motif.
This delicate piece is the creation of Montreal ceramist Sophie Cousineau. Use it at the table for sauces and condiments
Montreal ceramist Sophie Cousineau creates durable, multifunctional objects to enliven and comfort the senses. The primary colors she uses, the contrast between the color of the clay and the glaze, between the matte or lustrous texture of the glaze and the bare clay, all contribute to highlighting the raw material.
I draw inspiration from the Bauhaus philosophy to create sober objects with minimalist geometric lines that can serve multiple functions. I'm inspired by the colors and shapes used in the works of Gaudi, Kandinsky, Miro, and Hundertwasser.
