The Aurélia vermeille ring is a creation of Montreal glass artist Mélanie Laplante for her MÉLA line.
Set with a transparent glass bead with dazzling reflections, the spiral band makes it easy to adjust the size of the ring.
Mélanie Laplante, Quebec glass artist and jeweler behind the MÉLA brand, shapes each piece of her Aurélia collection with passion and meticulousness. Inspired by texture and form, she first sculpts her creations in wax, giving them an organic, almost living dimension. Once cast in sterling silver, these works come to life.
It was upon presenting them for the first time that Mélanie heard the first murmurs: "They look like sea creatures... seaweed... jellyfish...". Intrigued by these unexpected similarities, she let herself be inspired and named her collection Aurélia, in homage to the jellyfish of the Saint-Laurent estuary. A nod to the harmony that links art, nature and the imaginary. As we say here: "Tout est dans Tout!"
